My name is Andrea Andras, owner of
L'intimage salon in Budapest, founder of L'intimage Academy and the Angel Gentle Intimate Waxing Method.
My own journey began through painful personal experiences. Back in 2011 my now ex-husband got injured in his scrotum, while having an intimate wax. The wound was healing for weeks. The main problem was, besides the mistake made by the esthetician, the lack of care and responsibility for what happened. It was all due to "sensitive, dry skin" she said, so it was not her fault at all... I was so upset, that I decided to open my own salon, where I promised I would care. This is how it started in 2012, the salon was born almost at the same time with my son...
Sharing my philosophy more and more around care, empathy and pain management on podcasts and videos, I was asked to teach. This is how the Academy started...

My 14 years of professional experience are only one part of what I bring to this training. Throughout my life and career, I have gathered knowledge from different fields and learned to see intimate waxing from multiple perspectives.


NATUROPATHY      

My knowledge of naturopathy taught me to look at the body as a whole and to understand the importance of the skin, sensitivity and individual needs, just as natural remedies to certain symptoms.

ENGINEERING AND COACHING      

My background in engineering coaching taught me to think in systems, understand cause and effect, value precision and continuously look for ways to improve a process. 

SPIRITUAL TEACHING     

As a spiritual teacher, I have developed a deep understanding of presence, awareness, respect and the importance of creating a calm and supportive environment, being able to understand and create the right energy in the room, understanding deeper the energy behind the emotional states of people, guiding them through the process.

PSYCHOLOGY  

My research into pain, trauma and intimate waxing taught me that the experience is not only physical. Fear, vulnerability, previous experiences and emotions can all influence how a client experiences treatment and every client is a different personality needing a unique approach and communication.

EMPATHY & EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE  

I have learned to listen, observe and understand what a client may be feeling even when they do not say it out loud. Approaching clients with empathy and care affect the waxing experience tremendously, diminishing the sensation of pain.

I went to L’intimage for waxing about 3 years ago, and then recently decided to try BestWax. Well, after that I appreciate the quality of service I received here even more. At BestWax, they used a paper strip technique, they didn’t even use baby powder, and the Brazilian waxing was incomparably more painful than what I had been used to at L’intimage over the years. I used to think that it was completely natural that even a Brazilian wax could be tolerated if done with the right materials and good technique – now I really realize that this is not a given at all. At L’intimage, I never felt like the wax was tearing my skin, and the treatment was much gentler and more comfortable, even in such an intimate area. I think this is especially important for a Brazilian wax. After three years of experience and a very bad BestWax experience, I give it 5 stars with all my heart. I will definitely not experiment with other salons anymore.
